Staying Compliant with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority

Getting to know regulations in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma State Department of Health established the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) to supervise the regulations and guidelines governing the medical cannabis program in the state. The OMMA's duties encompass the management of a comprehensive database containing information on patients, caregivers, and physicians. Additionally, it grants licenses to cultivators, processors, testing laboratories, transporters, and dispensaries.

One of the primary responsibilities of the OMMA is to ensure that medical cannabis businesses comply with all the regulations set forth by the state. This includes the recent mandate in 2020, which requires all commercial cannabis licensees to implement a seed-to-sale tracking system as a mandatory measure.
