Staying Compliant with the Missouri's Medical Marijuana Regulatory Program
Getting to know regulations in Missouri
In November 2018, the state of Missouri legalized medical marijuana, granting the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) the authority to regulate it through the Medical Marijuana Regulatory Program (MMRP).
However, it is important to note that the legalization of possession, cultivation, and licensed retail sale of cannabis for adults 21 and over, as stated in Amendment 3, is not currently in effect. This amendment was passed on November 8, 2022.
Under Amendment 3, adults are allowed to possess up to three ounces of marijuana. They may also cultivate up to six flowering plants at home, along with six immature plants. Additionally, it is permissible to cultivate six plants under 14 inches. It is crucial to understand that these plants cannot be sold and must be strictly for personal use.
